CDTA Jazz and Tap Exam Date:  Will take place at the studio this Sunday, February 5th.  Mock Exam:  Will be held at the studio this Friday, February 3rd.   Please refer to your notice for exam times, mock exam times and dancewear needed.  If you did not receive one, be sure to come to the office to pick up a copy.

Students have been booking studio time over the past few weeks for practicing.  If you have not done this we encourage you to do so this week prior to mock exam.  Students should be booking time on their own and not in group settings.

 

Make up Classes

The following teachers would like to make up time for classes missed.

Elise

Saturday, Preschool Ballet 10:00 am. 

Classes will be extended for ten minutes for the following 7weeks

February 4th – March 17th including parent watch week.

This extension is to make up for two missed classes.
Saturday, Pre-Primary Ballet 10:45 am.

Classes will be extended for fifteen minutes for the following 6 weeks

February 4th – March 10th including parent watch week.

This extension is to make up for two missed classes.

 

Candice

Wednesday, Preschool Ballet 2:45 pm

Classes will be extended for ten minutes for the following 3 weeks

February 1 – 8 and fifteen minutes on February 15th.

This extension is to make up for one missed snow day in January.

 

Odyssey Dance Performance:  Is held at the Port Theatre this Saturday, February 4th.  Our Senior Jazz class will be performing their Lyrical Jazz routine.  Tickets are available at the Port Theatre.  All students performing will have a tech rehearsal at the theatre in full costume at 1:25 pm.  Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to stage time.

Parent Meeting:  There will be a parent meeting at the studio on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 pm.   Please email Irene at tempodanceacademy@shaw.ca if you are planning on attending.

Parent Watch Week:  Is scheduled for next Monday to Saturday, February 6-11th.  Parents are welcome to attend all classes during this week except for the competitive classes that are attending festival.

For example:  Grade four ballet – parents attends technique class during the week and not festival choreography class.  

Teachers are devoting their time to choreography at this time.  Parents in competitive classes are welcome to attend classes after festival.

What’s happening this week January 23 – 28th
RAD Ballet Exam Fees:  All applications have now been processed.  Once entries are sent to head office in Toronto, we will receive confirmed dates early in February.

 

CDTA Exams:   Are confirmded for Saturday, February 4th.  Mock exam  schedules were handed out in class last week.  If you were abscent please be sure to pick up your copy at the office today.   Mock exams are scheduled for Friday, February 3rd. 

 

Parent Meeting:   We need to cancel our parent meeting this week due to a conflict of dates.  We would like to reschedule the meeting to Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 pm. 

 

Charlie Brown DVDS:  Are now available to order.  Order forms will be handed out to students this week that participated in this production.  Extra forms will be available in the office if anyone else would like to order a copy.

 

Hip Hop Workshop:  Our sister dance school in Ladysmith called Rhythm Dance Academy will be hosting a Hip Hop workshop with a special guest artist from Vancouver on Saturday, February 11th.  Tempo Dance students are welcome to attend this workshop.  Sign up forms will be handed out to students in the Hip Hop classes starting this week.

What’s happening this week January 16 -21

RAD Applications Forms:  For those ballet classes participating in exams or assessments, all forms are due in by Tuesday, January 17th.

 Parent Meeting:  Our next parent meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00 pm.

 Snow:  There is a possibility that snow may arrive by tomorrow evening into Wednesday.  If the school closes down, we will post this information by email as well as on the website.  Please be sure to check your emails prior to driving to the school if it happens to be snowing a lot.

 CDTA Mock Exams:  Will take place at the studio on Friday, February 3rd.  Mock exams schedule will begin at 3:00 pm.   Notices will start to go out tomorrow to students participating in these exams.
PAEC Tap and Jazz Exams:  For those students registered in the younger grades will receive exam applications starting next Monday.   Students will receive these forms in class.

 Odyssey Performance:  Our Senior Lyrical Jazz Group will be performing at the Odyseey Performance on Saturday, February 4th. Tickets are now on sale through the box office. A schedule for rehearsal time will be posted shortly.

What’s happening this week January 9- 14th

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome back to dance!

 We are heading into a busy semester with many extra activities happening over the next couple of months.  Please be sure to always check your notices and website for up to date information.

 RAD Ballet Examinations and Assessments:   Students enrolled in the following grades Primary to Grade Four will receive application forms in class this week for Ballet exams which will take place at the studio in May.  These forms are due back to the studio on Monday, January 16th.  

 RAD Examination Results:  Have arrived.  Congratulations to all of the senior ballet students that passed their exams with exceptional marks.  Instructors will hand out reports and certificates to students this week. 

Please call Irene if you would like to recieve your mark a head of time.

 CDTA Jazz and Tap Exams:   All students should now have received a schedule for their extra lessons held in January.   If not please contact Irene at the office.

Extra lesson fees are now over due.  Please be sure to drop these off at the studio as soon as possible. 

CDTA Jazz and Tap Exam Date:  Has now been confirmed for Sunday, February 5th.  As soon as we receive the confirmed schedule from the academy we will advise students of their exam times.

Mock Exam:  Will be held at the studio on Friday, February 3rd.   Times TBA.

 Core Dance Competition:    We have an opportunity to attend this local competition held in May.   Our Intermediate and Senior classes will be given an application form to fill out this week.  Not all competitive classes will be selected. These classes are chosen by their instructors.   All forms are due back at the studio on Monday, January 16th.   

 Make up Classes

 HAYDEN   would like to schedule make up lessons for hip hop on Friday, January 13th.  The following classes will include:

Senior Hip Hop 2:00 – 3:15

Mackenzie Cumberland (solo) 3:15 -4:15

Intermediate Hip Hop 4:15 – 5:15

Level Three Hip Hop 5:15 – 6:15

Level Two Hip Hop 6:15 – 7:15

 

GENEVIEVE Adult Jazz Classes will resume Monday, January 16th.

 

HEATHER would like to schedule make up lessons for hip hop on Saturday, January 14th.   The following classes will include:

Kinder Hop – 1:15 – 2:00

Hip Hop 9-11 years – 2:00 – 3:00
