What's Happening This Week |
Third Term Fees: Are due today March 1st.
Spring Break: We close for Spring Break as of Sunday, March 7th. The school will re-open on Monday, March 22nd.
Upper Island Dance Festival: Our local competition begins on Thursday, March 18th. A schedule has been posted in the waiting area. Program books are available for purchase in the office - Cost: $5.00
Students participating in solos/duets for Nanaimo festival who did not receive a Beban Park Stage rehearsal on February 14th, will have a rehearsal at Beban Park on Monday, March 15th. We will send out notification with times closer to this date. Please advise your teacher if you are one of these students. Adult Tap will also be included in this rehearsal.
Tickets for the Music Festival Gala on April 10th, are now on sale at the Port Theatre Box Office. Tickets are $16.00 each. We recommend you purchase tickets early as seats sell out quickly. Classes that are chosen by the adjudicator to represent our school are required to attend this Gala performance. Please make arrangements to have this day open from conflicts.
School Year End Recital: Tickets for our year end recital will be available for purchase at the Port Theatre office in April. We will send out notification at the beginning of the month with more details.

Studio Rehearsal for Nanaimo Festival - Solos and Duets ONLY
The rehearsal scheduled for this Sunday, February 18th at the studio for solos and duets that have not had a practice has been cancelled. This will be rescheduled for a later date.
NANAIMO FESTIVAL GROUPS ONLY - BEBAN PARK STAGE REHEARSAL MONDAY, MARCH 1ST
THERE WILL BE NO COMPETITIVE CLASSES AT THE STUDIO ON THIS DAY!
This includes the following classes:
Grade Three Ballet
Modern Level Two
Grade Four Ballet
Grade Eight Ballet
Grade Seven A Ballet
Grade Seven B Ballet
Senior Lyrical Jazz
Primary Jazz
Grade Three Jazz
Grade Four Jazz
For all groups competing in the Nanaimo Festival there will be a Beban Park Stage rehearsal on Monday, March 1st. Please check below for your rehearsal time. Students are asked to arrive a minimum of fifteen minutes prior to the start of your stage time. Dancers will have an opportunity to set their routine on the stage only once. Due to the amount of groups, rehearsing on this day, if you are late, we will go on without you. Please try to avoid this, and make every effort to arrive on time.
This rehearsal is mandatory for all students to attend.
Costumes are not required. We expect all dancers to arrive with their dance attire (bodysuits and tights) and hair done up off the face. Please do not come in sweat pants, or jazz pants. You will be asked to take these items off. There will be no parent viewing for this event. We ask that you either drop your child off and pick them up when they are finished, or wait in the lobby area during the rehearsal time.
If you are not receiving your emails from constant contact, please be sure to let us know of any changes in your email address. Be sure that Constant Contact is not blocked. A schedule can be obtained from the office or email tempodanceacademy@shaw.ca and we will send out a new one to you.
