School Closures

The school will be closed for our second spring break week starting Monday, April 23^rd to Sunday, April 29^th.  All classes will resume on Monday, April 30^th.

 Class Cancellations this week

 This Friday, April 20^th there will be no Hip Hop for the following classes with Ms Heather:   Kinder Hop 3:30 and Hip Hop 9-11 5:30 – 6:30pm.

These classes will be made up at the same time the following week on Friday, April  27^th.

RAD Notices

For those students participating in the RAD Ballet examinations, all extra lesson and mock exam notices have been sent out.  Please refer to your notice in regards to the extra lessons that are happening this Saturday, April 21st.   Extra lessons and mock exam fees are now due and should be brought into the office by Monday (today) the latest – thank you.

 PAEC Notices

For those students participating in PAEC Tap and Jazz examinations, extra lessons and mock exam notices have gone out.  Please look for these to come home.  If you have not received them please come into the office to pick up a copy.   Exams are set for May 6^th with the mock exam on May 4^th.   A schedule will be set at soon as the academy has provided this for us.

CORE Dance Competition

For those classes participating in this competition a schedule will be posted at the studio today.   Programs are also available at Performing Fabrics to purchase.

Year End Recital

Tempo Dance is please to present “LEGENDS” this year at the Port Theatre.

Our year end recital takes place on Saturday, June 2nd at 1:00 and 7:00 pm.

We will be having our tech rehearsal on the Friday, June 1^st at the Port Theatre.  We generally start our rehearsal at 3:00 pm.   A follow up package will become available to all students the first week of May with all of the information

pertaining to our show.
Year End Recital Tickets

All tickets will for this event will go on sale as of Monday, April 16^th.   Below is a copy of the shows.  Please be sure to check which show your child is participating in.   The Yellow Classes are Matinee Show.   The Blue Classes are Evening Show.  The Red Classes will perform in both shows.

On the right side panel it will explain which half your child is dancing in.  There is a first half, followed by an intermission, followed by a second half.  Check to see if your child is in the first half or second half of the show.  If your child is only in first half and wants to watch the second half they will require to purchase a ticket.  If your child is in the second half and wants to watch the first half they are required to purchase a ticket.  We have limited seating at the theatre and we are not able to accommodate seats for dancers.  If you are not planning on purchasing a ticket for your child, you will be required to make arrangements to have your child picked up from their change rooms during intermission.  Students and most importantly young dancers are not permitted to stay backstage the entire time if they are not dancing.

Picture Day at the Studio

Our picture day is scheduled for Sunday, May 27^th at the studio.  A reminder that all students are required to attend picture day whether you are purchasing pictures or not.  Please be sure to book this date on your calendar.

Summer Schools

Parents have already been enquiring about our summer programs.   The following will take place this season:

Tempo Kids Camps

Monday, July 16^th to Friday, July 20^th.  Day programs for all students’ five to twelve can attend these day classes which include Dance, Arts and Crafts and games.  More information will be posted in your May package.

Summer Syllabus:  Junior classes from Grades Two to Five will run from August 13^th to 17^th.   This includes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern.

Summer Syllabus:  Intermediate and Senior classes from Grades Pre – elementary, Grade Six, Seven and Senior will run from August 20^th to 24^th.

We encourage all students to attend syllabus classes and require that all competitive classes to attend.  This will include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern.
